Learn English. Experience Western Canada. Meet New Friends.

In the Explore program, international and Canadian bursary students come together to study English communication and experience Western Canadian culture.

Classes focus on practicing real-world English and studying Western Canadian topics and themes. Plus, you will:

• Improve your English while having fun and experiencing culture,
• Meet other University of Regina students,
• Study with international and French-Canadian students, and
• Stay in one of our beautiful campus residences.

Program Fees

Canadian Bursary Students

• The Explore bursary from the Government of Canada covers tuition, materials, activities and related transportation, on-campus accommodation and food during the program dates.

International Students

• $4695 CAD
  The international student fee includes tuition, textbooks and materials, activities, accommodation, food, campus gym and pool passes, and arrival and departure transportation.

Policies

Program Fees

• Applicants must pay a non-refundable $275 CAD fee at the time of enrolment before being admitted to the program and receiving a Letter of Acceptance. The remaining portion of the program fee must be paid by the first day of the program.
• The total fee may also be paid at the time of enrolment.
• For Canadian bursary students
  • The CMEC Explore bursary is considered taxable income for the bursary recipient; thus, recipients must provide their Social Insurance Number (SIN) to the University of Regina.
  • The University will issue a T2202A to the Canadian bursary recipient for the relevant taxation year.
  • Explore bursaries come directly to the University. Bursary recipients do not receive any money from the Government of Canada.

Cancellation, Withdrawal and Transfers

• Before the first day of the program
  If an applicant withdraws from or cancels participation in an in-person program prior to the first day of the program, ESL will retain the non-refundable $275 CAD fee.
• After the program has started
  If an applicant withdraws anytime after the program has started or departs early, ESL will retain the full program fees.
• One-time transfer
  Prior to the start of the program, an applicant may choose to transfer the $275 CAD non-refundable fee to any other short-term ESL program. The enrolment fee cannot be transferred more than one time and the request must be submitted in writing prior to the start of the program initially enrolled in.
• Group Payment Exception
  If the applicant's fee is part of a group payment, payment of the non-refundable $275 CAD fee will not be required prior to a Letter of Acceptance being issued. Verification the applicant is part of a paying group or cohort is required before a Letter of Acceptance is issued.

Travel Arrangements

• The University is not responsible for the travel arrangements of any applicant.
• Applicants must make their own travel arrangements unless otherwise arranged by their home institution, such as when group bookings are made.
• Travel arrangements include but are not limited to:
  • flight bookings and
  • securing required travel documents, including the requirement of an ETA, Visitor VISA or other form of travel documentation.
