Did you know you can access government funding for your professional development courses at the U of R? We've outlined them here for you and can help with your application. The process is quick and easy!


Canada Training Credit

If you're between the ages of 26-65 you can use the Canada Training Credit towards the cost of eligible tuition and other fees paid for courses taken in 2020 and subsequent taxation years.

This refundable tax credit provides access to $250 each year with unused amounts carried forward to future years for a maximum lifetime amount of $5,000.

University of Regina Alumni Association (URAA) Professional Development Award


This $500 per term award is now available for ALL U of R alumni! 

You qualify for the URAA Award if you are:

  • alumni of the University of Regina (includes Continuing Education Professional Certificate alumni) and
  • are registered in Continuing Education professional development programs.

Accessed Through Your Employer

These government subsidy and grant programs are available to Saskatchewan employers to access professional development funding for their employees. See For Employers for a step-by-step guide to apply. We will get you what you need to apply and help you through the quick and easy process.

Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant 

Employers can access up to $10,000 in funding per employee up to a maximum of $100,000 each year. The government grant covers two-thirds of your fees.

Eligible Programs
  • Professional Certificates in Business Analysis, Leadership, Management, Organizational Innovation and Project Management
  • Professional Microcertificates in Business Communications, High Impact Leadership, Project Compliance and Responsive Management
