Violin Lessons with Carmen Constantinescu

Carmen Constantinescu was born in Romania and studied violin at the Bucharest Conservatory. She began playing violin at age 6 and by the age of 16 her performing career was already taking off. While competing and winning both national and international awards she pursued her studies in Germany (Weimar - Franz List Academy) with Galina Barinova and Switzerland (Gstaad -International Menuhin Music Academy). She performed numerous concerts as soloist with orchestras and chamber music ensembles, recorded for radio and television, and toured throughout Europe.
She is a founding member of the award winning "Eutherpe" Piano Trio of Bucharest and the String Quartet of the National Radio Television Orchestra .
Ms. Constantinescu was a member of the National Radio Television Orchestra in Bucharest prior to her coming to Canada. In 1981 she settled in Montreal and took a position with Montreal Symphony Orchestra and later in 1989 she joined the Regina Symphony Orchestra for which she holds the position of Assistant Concertmaster. Carmen also held the positions of Concertmaster and Acting Concertmaster with the RSO in the past. Ms. Constantinescu has been teaching at the Conservatory of Performing Arts for 30 years.

Expectations: Students are required to work towards exams, participate in recitals, and participate in music festivals. Students are expected to practice everyday.

Average Lesson Length: 30, 45, 60 minutes
30-Minute Lesson Rate: $32 * Private Lessons range from $28.50-35.50 and are based on previous education and experience.
