Fundamentals of Innovation

Take your first step to drive improvement and innovation in your organization. Topics covered include understanding value from the client's perspective and the differences between value‐add and non‐value add work. Gain access to successful approaches that engage the workforce and clients in identifying innovative solutions. This is a required course in the Change Management and Innovation Certificate. It is highly recommended but not required that you complete this course first.

  • Learn about key leadership skills and how they influence innovation
  • Understand the importance of listening to the voice of the customer
  • Identify value add and non‐value add work
  • Learn about timeline and flow for innovation projects
  • Become familiar with key tools of innovation
  • Learn about the 5s methodology developed by Toyota and Kanban
  • Understand the importance of Daily Visual Management for understanding business goals and what is needed to succeed
