MODULE 1: UNDERSTANDING THE HISTORY OF COLONIZATION, COLONIALISM, RACE AND RACIALIZATION ON CANADIAN SOCIETY
The learning outcomes for this first module are to help learners to better: Define what colonization, colonialism, race and racialization are in both socio-historic terms and contemporary understandings of Canada. and Describe how colonization, colonialism, race and racialization have been normalized, structured and systemized into what many people consider the everyday life for Canadians.
MODULE 2: THE IMPACTS OF COLONIZATION, COLONIALISM, RACE AND RACIALIZATION ON THE CANADIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM
The learning outcomes for this second module are to help learners to better: Disrupt the normalization and systemic nature of racism by challenging the taken-for-granted assumptions - in the form of values, beliefs processes, policies and practices - that are built into a Eurocentric, White supremacist education system that need to be challenged and changed and Dismantle the systemic inequities built on race, racialization and racism by examining how the social system might be changed in ways that provide for more equitable and just outcomes based on commitments to anti-oppression and anti-racism that lead to racial justice.
MODULE 3: REDESIGNING AND REBUILDING AN EQUITABLE AND RACIALLY-JUST EDUCATION SYSTEM
The last module invites learners to: Dream What can be designed and built as a more equitable and racially-just education system? and Design What process and actions are required to design and build a better future?
