YSTR1 - Conservatory Youth String Program - Cello (Ages 3-10)

**This course is for cello students. If you are interested in violin, please see our Introduction to String Workshops and Introduction to Violin Classes.**
The Conservatory Youth Strings Program (formerly Child/Parent Strings) offers the best in early string instruction under the leadership of instructors in our String Studios.
First year students can start with just a group class, but are recommended to register in Music - Private Lessons in their second year. Student in the second year of the program, take group classes as a supplement to Music - Private Lessons in cello.
Cello Group classes meet once a week encouraging polishing performance pieces, reviewing repertoire, and building community.
This is a family program, which means an adult (ex: parent, grandparent, or other adult caregiver) attends lessons and classes with your child. Family learning is the key to a successful start in learning cello! You also don't need to know cello before joining the programs - you will learn along with your child.
This course is for:
- 1st year cello students led by Alaina Majewski (ages 3-9) - 5:45-6:15pm (Group Class), there is no Musicianship class for 1st year students
- 2nd year or higher cello students led by Alaina Majewski (ages 4-10) - 6:15-6:45pm (Group Class), 6:45-7:15pm (Sectional Theory and Musicianship Classes - your child will not be required to attend every week at this time as the 2nd Year will be divided into groups based on experience)

Once your child graduates out of this program they join the Conservatory Youth String Orchestra. Ask your instructor if the Conservatory Youth String Orchestra or the Youth Strings Program is right for them.
It is recommend your child registers for Music - Private Lessons at the Conservatory of Performing Arts to be involved in this program, as our instructors follow the same curriculum in their Private Lesson studios connected to this group class. You can register in Private Lessons at anytime of the year.
