CPIPE2 - Conservatory Pipe Band - 2nd Year and Higher Students
Ages: 8-20
This course is for ALL students returning to the pipe band program and for anyone who studied with us in 2022-23. All NEW students, please enroll in the Conservatory Pipe Band – 1st Year group. If your child is new to Regina or the band, but has experience on drums or pipes, please contact our Student & Instructor Services Non-Credit Office to schedule an interview/playing test with our Pipe Band director to assess the best fit program for your child.
You DO NOT need to be Scottish to participate! The Conservatory Pipe Band has Saskatchewan's most experienced pipe band musicians as instructors and is the only youth pipe band in Regina! Instruction in bagpipes and snare and tenor/bass drums is based on Scotland's Piping and Drumming Qualifications Board guidelines and on the long experience of the teaching staff in this unique music style.
The Conservatory Pipe Band - 2nd Year or Higher group performs and competes at a variety events and festivals and is for students who have been playing drums or pipes for one or more years. Exact performance and competition dates are to be determined throughout the year but typically include events like the Conservatory Group Program Showcases (at Darke Hall in December and June), The Highland Gathering & Celtic Festival (at Victoria Park in May), and Mosaic (at the Scottish Pavilion in June). There may be fundraising activities families will be asked to participate in for special trips and out of province travel to highland gatherings and helping raise funds for new equipment and gear.
We accept enrollments in this program any time of the year. Contact Student & Instructor Services Non-Credit at 306-585-5748 to enroll after this course has started and your fee will be prorated based on your child's start date.
Any materials for the Conservatory Pipe Band will be recommended for purchase from your instructor. Most materials and gear are graciously supplied by the City of Regina Pipe Band.
