Ages: 16+

Bagpipe Studies is a casual ensemble for adults who can play the bagpipes and who want to expand their repertoire and socialize with other players without playing in a full pipe band. Improve your technique and knowledge of the bagpipes while having fun in a relaxed social setting with other enthusiastic adults. There are no performance requirements as part of your participation in this group. All experience levels are encouraged but you should arrive with basic playing skills.

You will study several new tunes, a simple piobaireachd, canntaireachd [Gaelic vocables] and further work on bagpipe sound and playing technique. This program is led by Iain MacDonald.

If you have no previous bagpipe experience, you can join our Beginner Bagpipes for Adults (no prior experience necessary) or our Music - Private Lesson program (one-on-one bagpipe lessons to study at your own pace). If you have a child ages 8+, please have them join our Conservatory Pipe Band - 1st Year Students program where beginners learn in group lessons on practice chanters with instructors teaching with our award winning Conservatory Youth Pipe Band.
